Our annual Midsummer party, held at our Community Center, was a delightful foray into fantasy. Our Master of Ceremonies was, of course, right out of Shakespeare: namely Puck himself, who regaled us with humor from The Bard. The modern bard, Myka McKinney, visiting from California, performed a splendid one-man presentation/performance of his Opera, “The Purple Coat”, the story of an individual’s journey towards transformation.complete with songs and clever staging.
World renown virtuoso pianist, Eric Doney, visiting from Pennsylvania, played some of his original compositions, then challenged the audience with the “Name That Tune” game, feeding us familiar melodies one note at a time, to our great delight.
The children all performed admirably complex vignettes and songs and dances, and we all had to ‘endure’ two songs played by our resident Greek trickster, “Wassilly”, who, of course, was silly yet profound.
This year, we treated our invited guests to a formal four course gourmet dinner all served by “Faeries” and “Nature Spirits” in character and great costumes. Our fabulous wings had to be abandoned for maneuvering to serve at tables, however, but of course, the “Fair Folk” don’t necessarily need wings to fly.
We cleared the front tables away for the grande finale of music and dancing, with some of our guests joining the band, as well.
In July, we gave an invitation-only Movements demonstration accompanied on grand piano by
Eric Doney. Much of the performance was captured on video, and segments will be posted in the months to come.
Feng Shui Workshop
Recently, Louis Audet, a master of Black Sect Tibetan Buddhist Feng Shui, and protoge’ of Professor Lin Yung, gave a Feng Shui Workshop at the Sacred Arts Foundation. Louis has been featured on “Oprah” and “Inside Edition”, as well as numerous other TV and Radio shows.
The enthusiastic response from students filled all available seats early on, so if you were not able to attend that one, we are hoping that Louis will have the time to give another Workshop in 2008. Email us if you are interested in attending.
Louis has been finishing the details on his current book, and his consultations with his clients take him all over the world, so he stays quite busy. We think he has “very good Feng Shui”.
From September 3 through the 19th, 2007, Sacred Arts Foundation hosted talks and seminars in “The Practical Application of Esoteric Principles” in Prague, then in Tuscany, Italy, including Florence and Venice and Radicondoli. Students from Europe, and North America attended this follow-up workshop to the Paris/Mont Felix seminars in September ’05.
