9 of the Feng Shui ‘Cures’

1.  Bright or Light-Refracting & Reflecting Objects: Lights symbolize the Solar Influence. Chandeliers, Candles, Faceted Crystal balls, and mirrors help with illumination, expansion activation and circulation of Chi.

Here are some of the common ‘cures’ for amending the energy of your spaces: to enhance, moderate, alter or raise Chi, or Life Force. These factors, when properly added to your environment are known to improve the circulation of Chi in areas delineated by the BaGua, or representative template of  existence (used to map out the balance and circulation of energy in the spaces you occupy.

2.  Mirrors: Mirrors are frequently used for ‘cures’ not only to refract light, but also to increase beneficial assets that are reflected in it and to draw in positive forces. They are also used to deflect negative energy.  “Mirror height is important. For example a mirror hung too high could indicate a person whose life goals are set too high and perhaps unattainable. Conversely, set too low indicates goals could be aimed higher.” -Louis Audet

3.  Living Things or Objects Depicting Them: Healthy Plants, Flowers, Fish (Goldfish are considered auspicious) and Healthy Pets remind the subconscious of growth and vitality.  Even artificial representations will supply your subconscious with that message.

4.  Sounds: Pleasing Sounds from Wind Chimes and Bells “call in” Chi and summon opportunity.  The soothing sound of water gently coursing can trigger a sense of inner peace and well-being.

5.  Symbols: Various items are used for specific effects.  Bamboo Flutes, for example, are said to have an uplifting influence, especially for counteracting the oppressing downward energy of ceiling beams.  Flutes are also for protection.  Coins, obviously represent increased prosperity and receiving material rewards.  Dragon, Tigers, Phoenix, Tortoise are for protection, vitality and support.  Depictions of Deities, Angels, and Higher Beings are used for inspiration, protection and support also.

7.  Colors: Colors reinforce the harmony of each area of Life represented by the BaGua and also correspond to the 5 elements in Feng Shui, to support their function in a space.

8.  Moving Objects: Mobiles, Whirleygigs, Windmills and Water Fountains implement the circulation, activation and uplifting of Chi (Life Force).

9.  Heavy Objects: Stones, Rocks, Large Crystals and Weighty Works of Art Sculpture are used to promote stability, reliability, permanence, groundedness  and other enduring traits to an area of your life.

6.  Art: Paintings, Sculptures, Images, Fabric Hangings, etc. are selected for their symbolic value as archetypes to remind your subconscious of specific things. The depictions should appeal to you and elicit positive feelings.  Their imagery should be appropriate for the BaGua area they are placed in.
